Dementia Care Specialists (DCS) has recognized Provision Living at Panama City Beach
as the first facility in Florida to achieve the status of Distinguished Provider—the highest credential in memory care.
The facility’s leadership team received the award at a special recognition ceremony on February 27. Executive Director Lori Carpenter said, “We believe individuals can lead happy, healthy, and productive lives at every dementia stage through the delivery of abilities-based, person-centered care.”
The Distinguished Provider
program honors facilities’ commitment to the Dementia Capable Care
training philosophy and abilities-based approach, which:
- Promotes the highest level of function for people at all stages of Alzheimer’s and dementia.
- Maximizes and maintains health and safety.
- Maximizes and maintains dignity and quality of life.
"Distinguished Provider status is a seal of approval from industry leaders," says Kim Warchol, OTR/L, DCS president and founder.
With over five million Americans living with dementia, and many more projected to develop the disease, the quality of care provided by Distinguished Providers serves as a model by which to elevate the standard of dementia care. To receive this special recognition, Provision Living at Panama City Beach meets strict application requirements and demonstrates ongoing, audited compliance to quality and training standards.
