How Danita Taylor's Making a Difference for Her Students

How Danita Taylor's Making a Difference for Her Students
“Every single student I work with matters and can succeed. My job is to help them discover for themselves that they are valued and are capable of success.”

CPI Certified Instructor Danita Taylor was interviewed on Today’s Pulse about her work at Cherokee Elementary School in the Cincinnati area.

An Intervention Specialist and a veteran teacher for 17 years, Danita guides students in Cherokee’s special ed program with reading, writing, and math support to help them be successful in the traditional classroom setting.

As a Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® Instructor for her district, she also trains other teachers, as well as administrators and support staff, on strategies for working with students who are upset and de-escalating stressful situations. Throughout her five years as an Instructor, she’s trained nearly 500 Lakota district staff in supportive skills for getting upset students back on track.

She says that what she enjoys most about teaching is seeing the smiles on students’ faces when they’ve accomplished something.

Thank you, Danita, for your dedication to helping all students succeed!
