Come See CPI at the CEC Convention and Expo!
If you’ll be at the 2016 CEC Convention and Expo in St. Louis this April 13–16, be sure to stop by to see the CPI team!
Come talk with us at booth #1018 in the Expo Hall, or join us for the sessions we’ll be leading at the convention. We’ll be waiting for your visit, questions, and to meet your case consultation and training resource needs.
Global Professional Instructor Travis Ickes and I will be presenting on:

Crisis Intervention Considerations With Preschoolers
Thursday, April 14 from 1 to 2 p.m. in Room 106
If you work with children ages three to six, don’t miss this session! We’ll explore unique factors that can cause crises to arise within this age group and what sorts of intervention strategies are developmentally appropriate. We’ll also discuss questions regarding the use of physical intervention strategies with young children.

Trauma-Informed Care Considerations for Schools
Friday, April 15 from 1 to 2 p.m. in Room 106
In light of the many profound ways that trauma affects behavior, this session will explore steps your school can take to become more trauma-sensitive for students and faculty. Learn about strategies for fostering resilience and avoiding re-traumatization of those in your care. A resources list will also be shared.

With over 5,000 educators in attendance, 200 special education companies, 800 sessions, and Dr. Temple Grandin as the keynote speaker, this enormous event will be packed with opportunities to network with your peers and learn from each other’s challenges and successes.
Hope to see you in St. Louis!
