Earlier this week we hosted a webinar on Positive Behavior Support and are pleased to say that we had over 1,000 registrants sign up to attend! This certainly speaks to why Positive Behavior Support is such an important focus area for us here at CPI.
We hosted the webinar because we want to create a dialog on how our Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® training can be integrated with PBIS, as well as show how the implementation of PBIS is supported by our training. We also want to support our Certified Instructors in any way that we can.
Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® training provides a framework that is applicable at all levels of PBIS. To word it simply, PBIS is a strategy that paves the way for successful teaching, while Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® training is an approach to preventing and responding to the behavioral needs of the individuals you support in the process. Both emphasize what staff can do to promote positive behaviors.
We would like to continue the interest and enthusiasm generated by the webinar. Reach out to us! What are you currently doing to integrate Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® training and Positive Behavior Support in your organization? How can the exchange of information and ideas help support best practice? Feel free to post your thoughts in the Comments section below or email your ideas to instructor@crisisprevention.com.
If you didn’t have a chance to see the webinar, you can view a recording of Positive Connections: CPI and Positive Behavior Support.
