S.2020, Keeping All Students Safe, was introduced in Congress on December 16, 2011 by Senator Thomas Harkin (D-IA).
This bill is intended to protect students from harmful and life-threatening seclusion and restraint practices. This bill was previously introduced in the Senate as S.2860 (Dodd, CT) and S.3895 (Dodd, CT and Burr, NC). Similar bills (HR 4247 and HR 1381) have been proposed in the House of Representatives.
