Texas HB 2588, Relating to Disclosure Statements on Admission of New Alzheimer’s/Dementia Patients
Texas HB 2588 was signed by the governor on June 20, 2015 and is effective September 1, 2015. It relates to disclosures by nursing facilities and assisted living facilities regarding certification or classification to provide specialized care, treatment, or personal care services to residents with Alzheimer's disease or related disorders.

  • How the facility is staffed, including staff training and resident-to-staff ratio.
  • Resident assessment, care planning, and implementing the care planning.
  • Systems that evaluate the institution’s programs for residents.
