CPI Hosts First Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® Training in Hong Kong
At CPI, we've been extending our community of caring to China. Last week, we hosted our first Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® Instructor Certification Training Program in Hong Kong.

Our Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® training program is considered the worldwide standard in crisis prevention and intervention training. It teaches staff to respond effectively to the warning signs that someone is beginning to lose control, and addresses how staff can deal with their own stress, anxieties, and emotions when confronted with challenging situations.

The Instructor Certification Program allows a Certified Instructor to take the powerful strategies learned in the program and teach them to coworkers throughout his or her organization.

Initial response from the newly Certified Instructors at the Hong Kong program has been extremely positive. Some comments from participants:

“It is a well-designed and systematic program that will help me better assess and intervene in those crisis moments.”

“The CPI
Crisis Development ModelSM teaches a universal model for all staff to identify and communicate with each other at those crisis moments.”

“It is such a simple program (to learn). Not only experienced employees but also the new staff can learn and apply it to real work situations in a short period of time.”

“The Instructor is very experienced. She guides us through the training and demonstrates the principles with real-life examples.”

“The approach of delivering Care, Welfare, Safety, and SecuritySM is different from any other crisis intervention program we have ever received. Even the physical intervention is meant to keep both staff and clients safe and to re-establish the relationship.”

Our Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® training and Prepare Training® programs focus on workplace violence prevention and offer effective strategies for managing anxious, hostile, or violent behavior. Through Dementia Care Specialists, we offer dementia care training to improve function, safety, and quality of life for persons with dementia.

Since 1980, more than six million professionals have participated in CPI training, and thousands of organizations worldwide have successfully implemented our unique behavior management techniques.
