Transportation employees for the New Caney Independent School District (NCISD) in Texas recently received training in CPI’s Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® program.
Bus aides, drivers, mechanics, supervisors, and other transportation personnel learned how to recognize the warning signs of potentially dangerous behavior, cope with fear and anxiety, and use nonverbal techniques to prevent and de-escalate acting-out behavior.
Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® training focuses on prevention and equips staff with proven strategies for safely defusing anxious, hostile, or violent behavior at the earliest possible stage.
“It's vital that our staff have the proper training they need to perform their jobs to the best of their abilities," says Josh Rice, Director of Transportation Services and a CPI Certified Instructor.
