CPI’s Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® Program Re-Approved by MA Dept. of Developmental Services

The Massachusetts Department of Developmental Services (DDS) has recertified CPI’s Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® training program as an approved option for crisis intervention training in Massachusetts, as the CPI program embeds the essential considerations for clinical and safety components outlined by the DDS.

Because CPI does not teach prone restraint as either part of the core curriculum of the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® program or as part of a “toolbox” technique that is used under certain circumstances, and because the CPI curriculum thoroughly integrates the PBS Core Concepts/Teaching Points as promoted by the DDS, CPI’s Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® program is re-approved through May 2015.
