CPI released The Preventive Techniques II, an updated version of The Preventive Techniques, one of CPI's most requested DVD training programs.
The Preventive Techniques II is designed for anyone interested in learning more about Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® training, as well for Certified Instructors who want to introduce or review the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® training program with their class participants.
The new DVD is "a great introduction to concepts taught within the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® training program," according to Dr. Randy Boardman, CPI's executive director of research and development.
"It depicts an overview of realistic situations based on core Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® concepts, which are then developed in our trainings."
The DVD also serves as a refresher option for Certified Instructors.
"I often hear from Certified Instructors that they want new, engaging and interactive refresher options. The Preventive Techniques II provides exactly that. We have built in much flexibility into this resource," Dr. Boardman said.
The DVD is newly filmed and rewritten with updated scenarios, expanded content, and simulated classroom environment. It also contains pause point options to allow for discussion of content applications with ease.
"This updated and enhanced version will challenge viewers to examine the concepts of Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® training in ways that are highly relevant to each organization's specific setting," said Susan Keith, CPI program developer and Professional Staff Instructor.
In addition to training and refreshers, The Preventive Techniques II is also designed for use as an overview for administrators or as a pretraining tool for new employees.
