Restraints Used on 1 in 4 Psychiatric Patients

oldladywatching175.jpg"Nearly one in four people in mental health wards in Ontario are restrained using straps, sedative drugs or other methods," says a report by the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI).



The CIHI analyzed "control interventions" to help hospitals and staff understand and minimize the use of restraints by following guidelines, implementing training, and sharing other successful strategies.
