Ten Tips for Crisis Prevention
A crisis can be defined as a moment in time when an individual in your charge loses rationality, and at times even physical, control over his own behavior. This can be very challenging and anxiety producing for those responsible for intervening. Due to the chaotic, unpredictable nature of a crisis, it is vital that staff stay calm and proceed with a plan.
Crisis Response Team

Physical Intervention Training
Physical intervention procedures are for use in conditions in which the safety of the acting-out individual or others is in imminent danger. Physical intervention training should stress positive de-escalation skills and strategies as the most important methods of intervention, with physical intervention used only as a last resort.
Physical Restraint Training
Sometimes prospective customers ask, “Is this where I can get physical restraint training?” The Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® program includes physical interventions and personal safety techniques, which are designed to maximize the safety of everyone involved in a crisis situation. However, the real intent of training is to learn a system of verbal and physical intervention techniques to allow staff to recognize and address escalating behavior at its earliest stages, before it escalates further.
