Autism Society of America

Autism Society of America (ASA) is a leading voice and resource of the autism community in education, advocacy, services, research, and support. ASA, a chapter and member-based organization, is committed to meaningful participation and self-determination in all aspects of life for individuals on the autism spectrum and their families. The ASA website contains useful information in English and Spanish.

 

Autism Society of Canada

Autism Society Canada (ASC) is a national incorporated non-profit charitable organization. It was founded in 1976 by a group of parents committed to advocacy, public education, information and referral, and support for its regional societies. The ASC website contains useful information in English and French.

AutismLink is a listserv newsletter that gathers news stories about autism around the world.

  

The Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning (CSEFEL)
The Center on the Social and Emotional Foundations for Early Learning (CSEFEL) is located at Vanderbilt University under the direction of Dr. Mary Louise Hemmeter. Its focus is to improve the social and emotional outcome for young children from birth to age 5. CSEFEL develops evidence-based training and technical assistance materials to promote children’s development.

 

The National Autism Center
The National Autism Center serves children and adolescents with autism by providing resources, promoting best practices, and offering comprehensive resources for families, practitioners, and communities. The Center works to shape public policy concerning autism and its treatment. It is guided by a professional advisory board.

 

National Autistic Society

The National Autistic Society (NAS) of the United Kingdom champions the rights and interests of all people with autism and aims to provide individuals with autism and their families with help, support and services that they can access, trust, and rely upon, and that can make a positive difference to their lives.

 

Positive  Behavioral Interventions and Supports
The Teaching Assistance Center on Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports was established by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs, to provide schools information and technical assistance to identify, adapt, and sustain effective disciplinary practices.

 

Positively Autism
Positively Autism is a free eMagazine for parents, teachers, individuals with autism, and other members of the community. The magazine focuses on positive topics including accomplishments of individuals with autism, success stories, and positive media reports.

 

Technical Assistance Center on Social Emotional Intervention for Young Children (TACSEI)
The Technical Assistance Center on Social Emotional Intervention for Young Children (TACSEI) is a program of the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Special Education Programs.  TACSEI uses research of best practices to improve social-emotional outcomes for children, with or at risk for delays or disabilities, and creates free products and resources with the information. These are available to download from the TACSEI website.

 

Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication Handicapped Children (TEACCH)

For over 40 years, Treatment and Education of Autistic and related Communication Handicapped Children (TEACCH) has been an innovator in developing and implementing a statewide system for assisting and supporting people with autism spectrum disorders and their families in North Carolina. The TEACCH program has also been a model for services throughout the country and all over the world. The TEACCH website contains useful information in English and Spanish.
