Safe Crisis Management Training

As an educator, health care provider, or human service provider, you face challenging behavior and potentially dangerous situations every day. How you respond to and manage these crises greatly determines the safety of everyone involved—and profoundly impacts your relationships with those in your care. Clear policies and effective, ongoing training go a long way in helping avoid violent incidents and escalating crises.

Learn How to Manage a Crisis
A crisis can be defined as a moment in time when an individual in your charge loses rational, and at times even physical, control over her own behavior. This can be very challenging and anxiety producing for those responsible for intervening. Due to the chaotic, unpredictable nature of a crisis, it is vital that staff stay calm and proceed with a plan. These crisis moments do not sprout into being without roots; there are almost always warning signs that let you know an individual’s behavior is escalating.

CPI has been training human services professionals for nearly 30 years to manage challenging, aggressive, and potentially violent individuals. Our training strategies fall within a less restrictive, end of the “range of force” continuum that advances the Care, Welfare, Safety, and SecuritySM of all stakeholders in caregiving facilities.
