For the first time, bipartisan legislation that addresses seclusion and restraint in schools is being introduced. The bill embodies principles set by the Obama administration.
Reasons to Reduce the Use of Restraint
In December 2006, the Michigan State Board of Education enacted a new law that set standards for the use of restraint. As a school social worker and a CPI Certified Instructor, Rebecca Ducham is always seeking out avenues to advocate for the decrease of restraint in our schools and other service organizations.
