Revised Restraint and Seclusion Bill Stalled
S.3895, the revised version of HR2427, the Keeping All Students Safe Act, did not move forward in the November session of Congress. The bill could be introduced again next year. The legislation would allow schools to include restraint and seclusion in students’ individualized education plans (IEPs) if students have a two-year history of behavior that could create "imminent danger of serious bodily injury in school." Art Helps Residents Stay Engaged
Some residents with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia at the Carolina House assisted living facility in Reidsville, NC have been taking monthly pottery lessons. The classes, offered by local artists Jim and Dottie Talley, help residents by allowing them to create objects with their hands, according to Roxanne Hammack, Alzheimer’s and dementia coordinator at the facility.
