CPI Training Leads to Reduction in School Suspensions, Assaults
After two CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® program Certified Instructors trained over 600 employees in the Elgin School District U-46 in Illinois, suspensions in the local high schools have decreased from 7,082 in 2007–2008 to 5,110 last year, according to an article in the Illinois Daily Herald. Advice to Caregivers: Reassure and Don’t Argue
An article in the Winston-Salem Journal provides Alzheimer’s patient caregivers and families advice on dealing with related behaviors. The information was provided by local physicians, including Dr. Beverly Jones, who says it’s important to remember that "family members simply cannot recognize how severe memory loss is. Santa Monica City Hall Creates Youth Violence Prevention Website
The Santa Monica, CA city hall launched a youth violence prevention portal on its website, according to an article in the Santa Monica Daily Press. The new website is a project of the city’s Youth Resource Team, which "seeks to keep youth safe and support healthy development from infancy through adulthood."
