Demonstrate Compliance With Training Standard

 

The DCCCP or DCCT applicant must meet the following training standards:

 

Initial Training Standards for a Therapist

Initial Training Standards for a Non-Therapy
Care Partner

1. Successfully complete:

a. Dementia Therapy: Achieving Positive Outcomes for the Person With Dementia or

b. Dementia Capable Care: Foundation and

c. Dementia Capable Care: Dementia Therapy Applications (live or online course)

2. Successfully complete:

a. Dementia Therapy: Intermediate Course or

b. Dementia Capable Care: Dementia Therapy Intermediate

3. Participate in one hour of consultation/training from DCS

4. Receive a passing grade on the post-test

1. Successfully complete:

a. Dementia Capable Care: Foundation and
b. Dementia Capable Care: Care Partner Applications

2. Participate in one hour of consultation/training from DCS

3. Receive a passing grade on the post-test

Ongoing Training Standards

Every year, successfully complete a minimum of two additional hours of DCS training (after year one). Education may be via participation in DCS-led e-learn, live, or webinar learning events.

• Submit at least one success story or article every six months, giving approval for DCS to publish (on our web community and in print as desired), and/or present at the DCS leadership conference.
• Every year, complete and submit outcomes and survey to DCS.

Audit Compliance
During the initial and ongoing audits, you will demonstrate compliance with standards and other requirements via:

  • Self-report of job history with submission of resume (at time of initial application).
  • Passing of post-test.
  • Training records.
  • Submission of success stories, survey, and outcomes at scheduled intervals.

If an audit reveals you are out of compliance with a standard or requirement, you will have 60 days to initiate a corrective action plan and regain compliance. If after 60 days, the noncompliance is not rectified per the satisfaction of the auditor, your DCCCP or DCCT recognition will be permanently revoked or suspended.

 

At such time, you must immediately cease all promotional activities related to your DCCCP or DCCT recognition and Dementia Care Specialists will take actions necessary to identify the change of status. If your recognition is revoked, all fees previously paid are nonrefundable.
