Submit an Application That Satisfies Approval Requirements

 

For DCCCP or DCCT recognition, you must meet the following approval requirements:

  • You must reside and work in the US.
  • You must complete an application for approval including:
    • Professional title and educational history. (If you are applying for DCCT recognition, you must be an occupational therapist, occupational therapy assistant, a speech-language pathologist, physical therapist, or physical therapy assistant. If you are applying for DCCCP recognition, you must be a nurse, nursing leader, nursing aide, activity team member, social worker, or administrator/executive director.)
  • Work experience in dementia care (requires at least two years’ experience).
  • Reason you are seeking DCCCP or DCCT recognition.
  • Previous dementia training obtained from Dementia Care Specialists (DCS).

Important Notes About the Application Process

  • Typically, the DCCCP/DCCT application and approval process takes approximately two to four weeks, providing you fulfill your responsibilities promptly.
  • You must submit a nonrefundable fee of $100 with the application.
