Programme Overview
Empower Dementia Carers.
Create a continuity of dementia care philosophy and approach through the implementation of our interdisciplinary dementia training using a cost-effective train-the-trainer format. This training prepares interdisciplinary teams to provide person-centred, abilities-based care that improves function, safety, and quality of life.
This interdisciplinary training is designed for all carers involved in dementia care, including therapists, administrators, facility educators, dementia programme directors, nurses, social workers, and activities, dietary, housekeeping, and other support staff.
All groups attend the same session on the first day, but the Care Partner Applications and Instructor Programme participants continue with more in-depth training and practical techniques on the second day. Instructor Programme participants go on to a third day of training to develop their skills and learn to conduct in-house programmes of their own.
One-Day Foundation Course
Establish a common framework for promoting best abilities.
The Foundation Course provides all who work in dementia care a common framework about Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (ADRD), a best-abilities perspective, dementia stages, behaviour management, and care techniques to promote the best ability to function.

Two-Day Foundation and Care Partner Applications Course
Apply new skills and adjust various aspects of dementia care.
Building on the Foundation Course, this course emphasises application and includes activities, case studies, and discussions relative to assessment, care approaches, documentation, and functional maintenance programmes.

- Examination of the stages of dementia in relation to the Allen Cognitive Levels

Three-Day Instructor Programme
Become certified to teach staff at your facility.
The Instructor Programme, our train-the-trainer course, allows an organisation to create a positive, congruent approach among all staff. On day three, participants learn how to deliver consistent staff training rooted in a person-centred, abilities-based model. Upon completion, they gain certification to use CPI's training materials to teach the seven-hour One-Day Foundation Course within their organisations.

Instructor Kit
Each participant in the Three-Day Instructor Programme receives a comprehensive Instructor Manual and materials necessary for staff training. The materials include a starter supply of Foundation Course Participant Workbooks and an Electronic Presentation to help deliver the programme with ease.
