Continuing Education Unit Affiliations and Program Approval/Accreditations
Currently, CPI and/or the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® training program are recognized for continuing education by the following entities:
General Information about CEUs
CPI maintains a wide variety of program approvals, accreditations, sponsorships, and providerships through numerous entities for continuing education. Each entity is governed by its own set of rules and policies, and uses its own terminology with respect to credits, hours, or units and how they are calculated. It is important to note that CPI does not issue credits of any kind. We work with the various boards and licensing organizations so that they have the appropriate information and fees in order to recognize our training program to be in compliance with their requirements.
Because CPI trains individuals from different countries, states, and professions, it is not feasible for CPI to apply to all of the applicable licensing and certifying boards for continuing education approval.
If there is an organization to which you would like to submit CPI training hours, and it is not listed, you should contact the organization directly and inquire about their requirements for recognizing trainings.
Many organizations will simply accept the Certificate of Attendance that CPI issues to those who attend our regularly scheduled training programs conducted by our Global Professional Instructors. In some cases, they will request copies of the course outline and training objectives. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org in order to obtain copies of our detailed program outline.
CPI is continually reviewing the approvals, accreditations, etc., that we maintain. If you would like CPI to consider applying with a specific entity or organization, please email the name of the entity, along with pertinent contact information, to the CEU coordinator at email@example.com.
CEUs for Participants Trained by Certified Instructors at Their Base of Employment
Generally, the approvals, accreditations, sponsorships, and providerships that CPI maintains are valid only for programs taught by our Global Professional Instructors. There are several exceptions—or Boards that will recognize trainings taught by our Certified Instructors—which are noted within the detailed information about each Board that is listed on this website. If there is not an exception noted, you should contact the Board directly to inquire about their requirements for recognizing trainings.
