Member Benefits
When you become certified, you automatically become a member of
CPI’s International Association of Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® Certified
Instructors (IANCICI). Your membership status formally recognizes
your ongoing commitment to training and your contributions to staff
and those in their care.
You'll receive exceptional benefits and support, including:
- Free professional consultation.
Call CPI’s toll-free Instructor Services line Monday through Friday
from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (CT) for consultation with
CPI Professional Staff Instructors. These consultants are available to
assist and support
Certified Instructors by answering questions, assessing needs,
problem solving, and offering guidance on preparing training and handling
specific
crisis situations. You won't reach an answering machine or be
put into a confusing maze of voicemail—you'll reach a professional
who is ready to help you.
- Documentation of training activities.
CPI maintains records and documentation of all training submitted
by Certified Instructors. You'll receive program confirmation
notices for each training you conduct. If a question arises
about who was trained when, just call CPI's Instructor
Services toll-free. Current training records can also be easily
accessed through a comprehensive website exclusively for CPI
Certified Instructors.
- Easy, exclusive access to the members-only
website.
Keep up-to-date on critical issues and relevant legislation and
regulations that impact your crisis intervention efforts through
resources, tutorials, discussion groups, computer-based learning
options, and other interactive learning activities that are
available only to Certified Instructors. This site is exclusively
for IANCICI members and can be accessed only by those with
a valid access code, which is assigned upon certification.
- Free refresher training programs.
All Certified Instructors are invited to attend free refresher
workshops regularly conducted by CPI in over 125 cities throughout
the US and Canada, as well as countries outside North America.
The Two-Day Workshop allows Certified Instructors to review
program
content,
refresh
training
skills,
and consult with a CPI Professional Staff Instructor.
- Professional development resources and opportunities.
Other support services for Certified Instructors include:
- Discounted prices on CPI training resources and materials.
- Advanced training options.
- Invitations to CPI’s International Instructors’
Conferences.
- Free subscriptions to two professional publications—the
Instructor Forum and the Journal of Safe Management of Disruptive and Assaultive Behavior.
- Opportunity to apply for CPI’s Sites of Excellence—cash grants awarded to facilities that demonstrate "Intervention Best Practices."
