PrepareTraining^® Program

Since 1980 the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) has been dedicated to providing training and resources for safely managing disruptive and aggressive behavior. To date, more than 5.4 million individuals have participated in CPI’s training programs.

CPI developed the PrepareTraining^® Program in response to the increasing demand by businesses for adaptable solutions to manage potentially disruptive or even dangerous situations. The strategies taught in this program have been effective in reducing the frequency and severity of these situations, increasing employee confidence and morale, and fostering a culture of Respect, Service and Safety at Work^®. These techniques can assist not only in preserving, but also in strengthening relationships with co-workers and customers. The models and methods of the program address evolving realities that impact the workplace while maintaining a consistent platform for problem solving. Continual assessment and evaluation to meet changing needs are integral pieces to the design of the PrepareTraining^® Program.

CPI’s PrepareTraining^® Foundation Course establishes key components for a culture of Respect, Service and Safety at Work^®. Participants acquire skills that build confidence in effectively dealing with irrational, angry or hostile people internal or external to the workplace. By understanding appropriate responses to varied situations, employees will act in a more rational and professional manner. Everyone benefits from an environment where respect, service and safety are at work.

The PrepareTraining^® program builds upon the Foundation Course with training developed as a process, including assessment, evaluation and continuing quality improvement. Issue-Specific Modules expand the process to create customized training programs, specific to each workplace. The PrepareTraining^® program provides after-training support including additional resources, documentation of training and other standards and practices dedicated to promoting respect, service and safety at work!
