What Audi's Super Bowl Commercial Says About Person-Centered Care

Photo: Audi USA / YouTube
A man sits alone and disenchanted.

“Is he eating?” his son asks.

“Nope,” says his caregiver.

What his son does next rockets him out of despondency and back to feeling purpose.

That’s person-centered, strength-based care.

Asking yourself this about someone who needs your help:

“What’s their background? What are their interests? What makes them feel supported? What makes them feel happy?”

As crisis prevention expert Pam Sikorski says, “It's about self-determination, treating people with respect and dignity, and working together to enhance the quality of that person's life—furthering their inclusion and engagement.”

What does this ad mean to you, and how do you practice these values in your work or home life?
