Congratulations to CPI Instructor Stacy Schrank! One of two Prepare Training®
Certified Instructors at the Metropolitan Library System in Oklahoma City, OK, Stacy recently earned his Ph.D. in educational leadership and policy studies with an emphasis in adult and higher education. His research focused on the self-directed learning practices of public library employees, and he continues to research training transfer to determine how much self-directed learning staff put into practice in their jobs.
Stacy is the Employee Development Coordinator for MLS and has spent ten years overseeing staff training and professional development for the system. As a Prepare Training®
Instructor, he teaches his coworkers skills for managing workplace conflicts. Giving his participants an organized understanding of how to safely respond to volatile internal and external customer behavior, Stacy empowers his colleagues to be part of the solution rather than contributing factors to stressful situations. He and his fellow Certified Instructor teach fundamental strategies for de-escalating crisis situations, and they address additional employee needs with in-depth Topic Modules
including Setting Effective Limits
and Workplace Bullying
. The modules help participants strengthen their communication skills, make their work environment civil and respectful, and avoid becoming frustrated or angry when they’re faced with difficult behavior.
