There are many things families need to consider when
choosing a community for their loved one.
Probably the most important factor is trust. Can they trust that a community will provide the most attentive, capable, and compassionate care? That staff are trained to effectively respond to the distress that people with dementia often feel? Can they trust that staff will get to know their loved one’s life story, likes, and dislikes? That staff will build their care around what a resident wants, needs, and is still capable of doing?
That trust is exactly what our Distinguished Provider award communicates. Last week, we presented the award to our newest recipient,
Glacier Hills Senior Living Community. Each staff member in Eva’s House, Glacier Hills’ innovative memory care center, is specially trained in
Alzheimer's and dementia care, and the community’s person-centered programs are custom designed to enable each resident to function at their highest possible level.
Our
Distinguished Provider program recognizes select memory care communities that demonstrate excellence in helping residents enjoy the greatest level of function, safety, and quality of life. Marvin Mason, a member of our senior leadership team, presented the award at a special recognition ceremony, and Sharon Host, one of our
Dementia Care Consultants who works with the Glacier Hills team on training and programming, spoke at the event.

More than five million Americans are currently living with dementia. With this number expected to soar to nearly 15 million by 2050, we hope that the quality of care provided by Glacier Hills and other Distinguished Providers will serve as a model by which to elevate the standard for memory care.
