We had a great time at the 2013 Walk to End Alzheimer’s
in Milwaukee last Saturday. Our Dementia Care Specialists team walked with over 200 other teams in honor of people with dementia and those who care for them. Together over 2,000 participants marched along the Menomonee River Parkway, sharing stories about our moms, dads, husbands, wives, grandparents, and friends—and talking about how we can make life better now for people with Alzheimer’s and their families.
We walked with families that were walking in memory of loved ones with dementia. We walked with families that were walking with
loved ones with dementia. We chatted with a man who runs a support group for men in Milwaukee
whose wives have Alzheimer’s disease. And we walked with people from organizations like PDC Midwest
, a design and construction company that specializes in building senior living environments that support and engage each resident. It was great to chat with likeminded people who care about making a difference for the people in our lives who are affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia.
Special thanks to everyone who helped us raise over $2500 for this very important cause. With their help we ranked #8 as a top fundraising team!
