Congratulations to Derek Heiblim, who recently became a Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® Certified Instructor!

Derek is the Director of Life Skills Services at Narconon New Life Retreat, an alcohol and drug rehabilitation center in Denham Springs, LA. “Over six years ago,” he says, “the Narconon New Life Program saved my life after an eight-year heroin addiction which had consumed me.”

Now Derek provides the same support he received for others who are working toward recovery. “It just made sense to give back to others using the same program that helped me,” he says.

He’s currently pursing counselor certification in Louisiana, and, as a CPI Certified Instructor, he trains his coworkers in positive strategies for supporting clients through their struggles.
