Who We Are
CPI—the Crisis Prevention Institute—believes that every student and staff member deserve a safe and supportive school. For nearly 40 years, we've given staff the skills and confidence to sustain cultures of Care, Welfare, Safety, and Security℠. More than 11 million professionals have participated in our training.
How It Works
Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® training, CPI's premier offering, is a complete suite of time-tested values and skills that staff can use immediately. They'll gain a common language and reliable best practices to proactively address the behaviors that can fuel crisis before they escalate and learn how to safely intervene when escalation does occur. The result? A sustainable culture of safety and caring that allows teachers to teach and students to thrive.
We'll help you get key staff members certified in facilitation so that they can train their peers on-site, unifying your district's approach to crisis prevention and safe de-escalation.
Why It Matters
By focusing on proactively addressing the continuum of behaviors that can fuel violence in a safe and supportive way, Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® training provides the foundation for school safety best practices including:
