Section 1. The members of the House of Representative collectively urge cities of at least 25,000 citizens to include dementia training in their annual training for police officers, emergency medical technicians, and firefighters. The members of the House of Representatives further collectively urge counties and sheriffs to include dementia training in their annual training for emergency medical service providers and deputy sheriffs, and urge the Kentucky State Police to provide similar training for its troopers.
Section 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in honor of the Alzheimer's Association, Kentucky and Southern Indiana Chapter, as well as all of the Kentuckians living with dementia and their caregivers.
Section 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to transmit two copies of this Resolution to the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Kentucky and Southern Indiana Chapter, 6100 Dutchmans Lane, Suite 401, Louisville, KY 40205.
