- The bill requires the Peace Officer Standards and Training Board to create a list of approved training courses to instruct peace officers in the techniques of responding to a mental health crisis.
- The training course must include techniques for:
(1) relating to individuals with mental illnesses and their families; and
(2) crisis de-escalation.
- An individual shall complete a minimum of four hours of continuing education training over three years.
