Emergency Communications Boards (ECB) from Chileda Institute of La Crosse, WI are designed to assist emergency responders when they interact with adults and children who are nonverbal or have other communication challenges. Low-tech and accessible, these two-sided tri-fold visual tools help individuals, such as those on the autism spectrum, express their wants and needs during frightening and unfamiliar situations.
Two Versions Available
The ECBs are available in two versions—one for police and one for EMS personnel. Both versions include panels with picture icons and the familiar QWERTY board to help individuals spell out words important to the situation. Other panels help responders obtain contact and personal information, and assist with safety, comfort, and communicating common directives.
Includes Video Manual
Every order includes the Emergency Communications Board Video Manual, an 8-minute how-to DVD, that demonstrates the ECBs in use and depicts how alternative communication strategies can be effective tools during crisis situations and, ultimately, help save lives.
Package of 10 – includes one video manual DVD per order
