You can become a CPI Certified Instructor:
At a public training program
With this option, you travel to a regularly scheduled Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® training. You have your choice of public programs in over 170 cities worldwide. It’s easy to sign up—register right here!
Or right onsite at your organization, with hosting
When you host a training, we come to you. CPI courses are delivered right at your location—at your convenience and customized to your realities.
If you're looking for the most cost-effective way to build a strong crisis prevention team, hosting is for you. It eliminates staff travel and lodging expenses, which can save your organization a significant amount of money—especially if you have a number of staff who need training.
“The cost benefit is a big deal. Hosting helps us be good stewards of the limited funds for our agency, saving us money on travel and hotels. Our staff develop camaraderie with each other and other new Certified Instructors in our area. CPI customizes the program to our needs, which takes our staff deeper into the content. CPI absolutely makes this an easy process. I make the request and they do the rest.” —John Heiderscheidt, Director of School Safety and Culture, Elgin School District U-46
You can host other pros in your community too
As a host, you can have the training delivered just to your staff, or you can invite professionals from other organizations to attend too. Pick a date that’s convenient for you, and we’ll handle the rest. It’s easy to get started—just request a free Customized Training Proposal.
If you choose to invite other organizations to your training, it can help meet the 10 person minimum for hosting. It’s also a great way to network and be seen as a model of best practices. We take care of marketing the program to other professionals in your area, and we provide all the training materials. All you provide is:
- The training site (1,500 to 2,000 square feet)
- Morning and afternoon beverages
- Reimbursement for CPI Global Professional Instructor expenses (meals, lodging, and transportation)
- A contact person to work with us on logistics
You also get even more training options when you host
Whether you choose to host a training just for your staff, or you choose to invite other organizations too, hosting gives you even more options. You can build on the foundation of Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® training with the following additional topics. We can conduct any of these courses before or after a hosted program. They’re also available as stand-alone sessions.
