When your goal is to create a functional and attractive living environment that meets the needs of our seniors, what’s the reward for raising the bar?

For the Colonnade Senior Living community in O’Fallon, IL, there are actually three rewards.

First and foremost, by using the latest innovations and best practices, they enjoy the satisfaction that comes with making life better for their residents.

Secondly, they just won a 2015 Beautification award as part of their community’s Chamber of Commerce Salute to Business Awards.

The honor comes to the Colonnade as a result of their commitment to building upon the relationship they’ve had with families since the 1960s. Last year, the Colonnade invested over $13 million in a complete renovation of their facility and grounds. They updated and redesigned their building, and added 11 new memory care apartments to their Heritage community. And starting next month, they’re breaking new ground on adding more than 30 additional independent and assisted living apartments.

The third reward? The Heritage community recently won our Distinguished Provider award for their commitment to Dementia Capable Care training, programming, and design, which help staff better enable residents with Alzheimer’s and dementia to enjoy the greatest level of function, safety, and quality of life.

“It’s just been fantastic [to know] we’ve really been able to fill a need that existed in the city of O’Fallon,” Barbara Dunaway, executive director of Heritage Memory Care, told the O’Fallon Progress. “Anytime that you’re recognized for making a difference in the community, it definitely feels good.”
