Pre-training: Online Course
2-3 hours
Before your classroom training begins, you must complete an online course. This sets the foundation for future sessions, with quizzes to help make sure you retain what you’ve learned. You will receive an invitation to complete the online course approximately 10 days before your classroom training.
Classroom Training
Under the guidance of a Global Professional Instructor, this training will provide you with risk assessment, problem solving, and advanced physical interventions, as well as facilitation strategies for teaching advanced physical interventions to others. You will learn how to recognize the stages of an escalating crisis and how to apply evidence-based techniques and strategies to appropriately de-escalate and ensure the Care, Welfare, Safety, and SecuritySM of those in your care. The Instructor will train and assess your restrictive intervention skills, as well as assess your competency in the overall program through teach-back exercises. Upon completion of your training, you will be equipped to train your staff with safe and advanced deceleration, disengagement, and physical intervention techniques.
