Verbal Intervention training equips staff with de-escalation skills and non-restrictive intervention techniques, giving them the confidence and competence to manage escalating behaviors. This programme is ideal for facilities with hands-off policies, or for staff that do not experience situations that warrant physical interventions.
To accommodate new guidelines and best practice, Verbal Intervention is now available as a virtual training programme, making it convenient for you to become certified to teach this programme.
There are three steps to the virtual Verbal Intervention programme:
Pre-Training: Verbal Intervention Online Curriculum (3-4 hours)
Before your live virtual training begins, you must complete an online curriculum, which includes an introduction to Verbal Intervention. This course is a prerequisite to attending your live virtual training event. You will review course content, dig deeper into CPI modules, and learn important facilitation strategies to maximise your training. You will receive an invitation to complete the online portion of training approximately 10 days before your virtual training event.
Live Virtual Training (1 Day)
You will attend a live, interactive instruction session led by a Global Professional Instructor (GPI). In the live event you will apply course content through a variety of activities, explore workplace scenarios with your peers, and work interactively with a GPI to discuss facilitation strategies.
Online Certification Exam (1 hour)
To earn your Verbal Intervention instructor certification, you must complete and pass the Online Certification Exam. You will receive an email with a link to this exam following the virtual training session.
