Philosophy of Training

When we started providing this service, we were focused on teaching staff how to protect themselves, physically. It quickly occurred to me that self-defense techniques were only a part of the equation. The professionals we were training had a desire to provide a better experience for those in their care. Once that occurred to me, it became clear that we were not there to teach staff physical methods. We needed to focus on changing behaviours with respect and compassion.
