CPI Safety Intervention Advanced/Advanced & Emergency Training

CPI Safety Intervention, formerly known as MAPA®, Advanced/Advanced & Emergency programmes are designed for organisations supporting individuals likely to demonstrate more complex or extreme risk behaviours. It provides effective intervention options and decision-making skills to help staff manage higher risk situations.

Training Outline

Key Features of the Training

Safety Intervention™ Advanced/Advanced & Emergency Training builds on the concepts and principles learnt in the CPI Safety Intervention Foundation course. In these programmes, participants will continue to build on their intervention strategies when responding to high-risk behaviours.

Participants will need to successfully complete the Foundation programme first. The programmes are RRN certificated training curricula.

The training provides both Continuing Education Credits (CEC) and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Credits.

Recognise & Respond to Higher Risk Crisis Behaviour

These programmes expand upon the Foundation course while maintaining an emphasis on preventative skills. All the content, not just the physical skills, is developed further, equipping the instructor with more advanced knowledge.

Learn Advanced Content

Gives participants a greater understanding of key workplace training theory, to ensure the safety intervention training is transferred into your workplace effectively and safely. The programmes build understanding of the principles, techniques and sources of CPI Safety Intervention classroom models.

Advanced or Advanced & Emergency?

The Advanced Programme provides participants with additional non-restrictive and restrictive interventions for risk behaviour. This involves expanding decision-making skills and introducing the Brøset Violence Checklist as a key preventative tool.

In addition to the content of the Advanced Programme, Advanced & Emergency has an explicit focus on safety intervention for extreme risk behaviour and emergency interventions.
