Delivering effective support requires an understanding that one approach does not fit all. Person-centred care starts with acknowledging that individuals are experts in their own lives, bringing valuable lived experiences that play a crucial role in shaping their care plans. This approach emphasises the importance of adapting to each person’s unique needs and perspectives.
In crisis situations, it is important for staff to maintain professionalism and apply strategies that support rational detachment, enabling them to make clear, balanced decisions. This approach helps staff manage their responses and uphold effective, objective support.
