Our Training Approach
We offer a training framework — train-the-trainer — that turns employees into in-house behaviour or crisis prevention leads. These leads are your CPI Certified Instructors who then teach other members of your organisation.
Following a train-the-trainer model means consistency of delivery and allows you to integrate existing organisational policies and standards.
A Programme for Every Role and Risk Level
Our portfolio of training programmes aligns with every role and risk level, providing evidence-based techniques that keep safety and well-being at the forefront.
Beyond the Initial Training
CPI continues to support your Certified Instructors, from offering training refreshers to answering questions about programmes, to providing materials and guidance to help ensure staff retain what they’ve learned.
Need to Renew Your CPI Certification?
Renewals are required to maintain your certification and ensure your ability to provide the most updated de-escalation techniques. Start the process below.
Selecting Certified Instructors
CPI recommends that organisations take time to carefully consider which candidates are best suited to participate in the Instructor Certification Programme. These employees will have a significant impact on the overall success of the CPI training programme within their organisation.
- Show compassion and empathy for the people they will be training.
- Demonstrate skills in using a variety of training techniques.
- Present information clearly to individuals and groups alike.
- Have the ability to successfully lead a group.
- Meet your organisation’s expectations for providing timely, effective training.
